Getting The Thumbs-Down From Americans es 30% Alan Greenspan Financial Markets 45% eee 55%, Bill Clinton @ Despite his handling of the economy, a new poll shows Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan still provoking less anger than others. The telephone poll, conducted by Roper-Starch for Sam Adams, one of America’s leading worldclass beers, found that despite any beating they may have taken in the stock market, Americans weren't ready to give the so-called “white knight” of Wall Street the boot. Indeed, a surprisingly high 50 percent wanted to approvingly “toast” him. That contrasts with the more than 45 percent who wanted to “roast” the entire financial market. Faring even worse than the financial market? Former Presi- dent Bill Clinton—whose Pardon- gate scandals translated into 55 percent of respondents opting to “roast” him. The telephone poll, of 1,000 adults, has a three-quarter point margin of error.
