APMA Seal Of Approval Ensures Quality Foot Care Products

Foot Care Products (NAPSA)-—-The American Podiatric Medical Asseciation (APMA) ig committed to providing information to the public about proper foot care products, ranging from casual and athletic shoes to insoles and hosiery. The APMA seal programs are entering their 3lst year as the best resources for selecting high quality foot products. The Seal of Approval evaluates the use of pharmaceuticals, while the Seal of Acceptance evaluates shoes ofall types, including: dress shoes, casual shoes, occupational shoes, safety shoes, athletic shoes, insoles, hosiery and foot wear materials. There are many steps that companies must take before being awarded the coveted Seal of Approval or Seal of Acceptance. For both programs the product must pass a scientific evaluation by a panel consisting of APMA members, the nation’s leading professional society for foot and ankle specialists. Evidence of safety and usefulness is determined through rigorous testing at a recognized laboratory, by clinical investigations, and/or when physical standards or applicable specifications have been met. “The seal programs are very important and beneficial to both the public and the members of APMA,” said Harold Glickman, DPM, Chairman of the Podiatric | ate Seal Committee. “They offer the public credibility when selecting products that promote good foot health, and they offer members the knowledgethat a committee of their peers—other podiatrists— have participated in a rigorous scientific testing program to decide which products and pharmaceuticals deserve the Seal of Acceptance and Seal of Approval.” The APMA Seal of Acceptance and Seal of Approval programs were created to help the public make educatedchoices ahout their foot care products.
