Pets are welcome at some vaca- tion destinations, but its a good idea to check on pet policies before leaving home. Some places require deposits for pets and some have special exercise areas. Sharing vacation fun with your dog or cat can be easier if you follow a few tips from the experts at KOA KRampegrounds. When traveling, pet owners may need to bring a crate, a first aid kit, familiar toys, a supply of the pet’s food and treats, at least two leashes, food and water bowls, proof of license and vaccination, plus a picture in case the vet gets lost, a brush or comb, andan identification tag and updated rabies tag. A first aid kit for pets should include a topical antibiotic, veterinary eye drops, gause and wrapping tape, tweezers, and any regular medication that the pet takes. Take your pet to the veterinarian before your trip so he or she is up to date with all the required shots.
