Enhanced Mobility Thursday, March 1, 2001 Department Enhanced Mobility (NAPSA)—Leading the way for many blind and visually impaired people is an organization which provides guide dogs and all the necessary training, free of charge. Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Ine., located in Smithtown, NY, has provided guide dogs free of charge to blind people who seek the enhanced mobility and increased independence that a guide dog provides. ris i= = For more than 50 years, the Guide Dog Foundation has helped blind people live more independently. Students come to the Foundation from all over the United States and many foreign countries. The Foundation’s trademark small classes and individualized instruction even attract students who have special requirements. The Guide Dog Foundation is supported entirely by donations from generous individuals, corporations and foundations. The organization receives no government funding. The Guide Dog Foundation strives to be the leading resource and provider of premier services to facilitate the independence of people whoare blind or visually impaired.
