(NAPSA)—When it comes to vacations, American interest in the land Down Underhas reached new heights. Hundreds of thousands of Americansvisited Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and enjoyed the wonders of Sydney in 2001. Even more are expected in 2002. The surge of tourists has helped Australia create one of the most US.-friendly and American touristoriented travel industries in the world. For example, the Australian Tourist Commission is running a year-long sale specifically for Americans looking to vacation Down Under. Nearly one hundred deals have been posted on Australia’s official tourism Web site, www.australia.com. “There are dozens of packages to suit every taste,” says the Commission’s Michael Londregan. “So, whether you’re looking for a family vacation ora romantic escape, you'll find it on www.australia.com.” Thedeals listed on the site start at less than $2,000 for two weeks, including air and accommodations. All, Londregan says, are meant to help Americans have “no worries” about planning a trip Down Under. --- PHOTOS --- File: 20190816-123952-20190816-123951-52733.pdf.jpg --- FILES --- File: 20190816-123951-52733.pdf
