Slipping Into Something That Makes A Difference Thursday, March 1, 2007 Slip Into Something That MakesA Difference (NAPSA)—Over 200,000 women and 1,200 men will receive a diagnosis of breast cancer this year. In the U.S. alone, every two and a half minutes, breast cancer invades an individual’s life. Every 12 minutes, someoneloses the battle against the disease. How can a simple pair ofslippers make the final dreams and wishes of patients with metastatic breast cancer come true? An opportunity has been created through a partnership between the Dearfoams Company and Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation—a foundation that helps metastatic breast cancer patients create memories with their families and friends. Dearfoams has designated Making Memories its official Pink Ribbon charity and has created exclusive pink ribbon slippers for the cause. Portions of the proceeds from the sale of each pair of pink ribbon slippers will benefit the nonprofit foundation. Thepartnership hasalso created “National Slipper Day.” Businesses of all sizes can get involved by asking employeesto contribute two dollars each to weartheir favorite pair of slippers at work on October 26th. All the money donated will go directly to Making Memories. Employees can wear their own slippers, or go a step further and purchase oneof the pink ribbonstyles.
