A Hero At Any Age Tuesday, March 1, 2005 YOUWal A Hero At Any Age (NAPSA)—At only 11 years of age, Suzie Tipton of Hendersonville, N.C., began changing the lives of special-needs children. Inspired by her own disability, Tipton created “Suzie’s Closet,” a collection of special-needs equipment that children have outgrown that can be loaned to kids requiring the high-priced, often difficult-to-find equipment. = Suzie Tipton The donated pieces are repaired and cleaned for new users. When they outgrow the equipment, they return it to “Suzie’s Closet” for others. Tipton’s incredible contribution to her community earned her the first annual Alexandra Scott Butterfly Award, part of the Volvo for life Awards, an annual search for andcelebration of local heroes. If you know a hero, nominate him or her for the fourth annual Volvo for life Awards at www. volvoforlifeawards.com through Jan. 15, 2006. Six of the nine finalists get $25,000 charitable contributions and three get $50,000 donations. One overall winner receives a new Volvo for life. --- PHOTOS --- File: 20190730-134653-20190730-134652-66625.pdf.jpg --- FILES --- File: 20190730-134652-66625.pdf
