Promoting Quality In Student & Youth Travel Wednesday, March 1, 2006 News & Notes Promoting Quality In Student & Youth Travel (NAPSA)—There’s good news for educators and parents who want to make sure students will have a quality student-trip experience. Since 1997, a nonprofit organization has been working to pro- mote quality, safety, integrity and professionalism in youth travel. From singing with choirs in Harlem to visiting ruins in Greece, today’s studenttrips offer a wide range of experiences. The Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA) works with member tour operators, hotels/ hostels, restaurants, transporta- tion and other organizations involved in student and youth travel to promote quality trips aroundthe globe. By visiting the SYTA Website, trip planners and parents can find information that can help them evaluate their child’s trip provider. Current active tour operator members of SYTA account for almost $2 billion U.S. in student and youth travel, providing trips for over 1.5 million participants each year. For more information and a Trip Planning Guide, visit www.syta.org or contact SYTA at (800) 509-7982.
